Ashes: Australia, England players pay homage to Bondi Beach terror attack victims

Players from the Australia and England cricket teams came together to pay their respects to the victims of the Bondi Beach tragedy in Sydney on the opening day of the third Ashes Test at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday, December 17. Both teams wore black armbands as a mark of mourning and observed a moment of silence before the start of play.

Fifteen civilians were killed and dozens injured on Sunday at Bondi Beach after two men opened fire, targeting members of the Jewish community who were celebrating Hanukkah. The gesture from both teams served as a show of solidarity from the cricketing fraternity following the tragic events that unfolded in Sydney, which is also scheduled to host the fifth Test of the series.Earlier, Cricket Australia and the England and Wales Cricket Board released a joint statement condemning the terrorist attack and expressing their condolences to the affected families.
